Travel news

The trip to Cape Town was terrific.

The trip was terrific.  Right from pick up at the airport to the wonderful Lagoon Beach Apartments Nowahala Tours were there for us.  Lagoon Beach Apartments gave us excellent service. We visited a number of exciting places.  The Peninsula tour saw us visit some spectacular sites such as Signal Hill and the Lion’s Head peaks.  Chapman’s peak was the crown of the Peninsular tour.  The Cape of Good Hope was amazingly beautiful, it rekindled in me the memories of my early lessons in social studies of early explores who found sanctuary at the Cape of Good Hope.  Cape Point provided an opportunity for us to see where Two Oceans meet, the Indian and Atlantic oceans.  The Canal Walk shopping mall had everything we wanted to buy. What a wonderful holiday we had! Munsanje Ernest.... read more

“Four star rated experience” – Cape Town, South Africa

Our experience was an awesome one! From the receptive and friendly staff to the serene environment, we felt at home away from home! The Canal Walk experience was fun-loving. We could do it over and over and over. Four star rated experience. The Two Oceans Aquarium was the bomb! Seeing the aquatic animals live was breathtaking. Another four star rated experience. Going to the V&A Waterfront to have a boat cruise was fantastic. We saw a live seal and some history to behold. The boat-cruise was VIP-like. A trip to the main Cape-Town, gave us a little feel of our own back-home-(Nigeria)-Lagos scenery. A bit of hustle and bustle could be seen. The African spirit can’t really be wiped off. So far so good, the experience was worthwhile. My family says THANK YOU ALL! Mr. & Mrs. Adebisi Ajayi Cape Town, South... read more

Mnarani was a nice experience and a memorable one.

Holiday at Mnarani was a nice experience and a memorable one, from the reception to the animation team, to the room service and other staff up to the management were accommodating and friendly. The management team were up to their tools and everyone was fun to be with but had only one challenge on the food.  The food is nice but it’s more of the European, Italian and other continental dishes, there was no African dish. I will wish to suggest African dishes be introduced in the meal plan, so we don’t go off what we are use too completely besides we are visiting an African, so it’s meant to be home to us all. Top 10 Dubai – To do and places to see

Dubai is a city that must be seen to be believed! Dubai is exciting and filled with fun and ambition.  Dubai offers the world’s tallest buildings, a modest fishing village, museums and intricate alleyways.  Other attractions include visits to mosques, palaces and infamous theme parks.  Whatever your plans, be sure the following Top Ten are on your list! 1. Burj Khalifa The trophy of Dubai is the Burj Khalifa which stands 828 metres high and is hard to miss; the tower dominates the Dubai skyline, but the true majesty of the building is best appreciated up close or, even better, from inside. On a clear day, the view from the observation deck is stunning.  At Burj Khalifa is the Dubai Fountain, it is equivalent to over two footfall pitches and performs to a selection of different melodies.  The fountain features over 6600 lights in 25 colour projects.  When operational, the fountain uses over 22,000 gallons of water in the air. BOOK NOW! DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES – SPECIAL PACKAGE HERE 2. The Dubai Mall Next to the Burj Khalifa is The Dubai Mall; to merely call the sprawling development a shopping mall is doing it a disservice. An entire day spent at Dubai Mall isn’t enough to see it all.  Dubai is a shopper’s paradise with amazing shopping opportunities.  The Dubai Mall has 1,200-plus shops and 150 restaurants with an indoor theme park, an ice rink, a huge indoor waterfall, a choreographed outdoor fountain and the giant Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo. The city’s iconic malls are also recreational destinations and dining precincts.  Besides luxury malls Dubai has hip boutiques and markets; Dubai is the city... read more

How to take the perfect selfie

Are you going on holiday soon? Well there is no better time to take a selfie than when you are feeling fresh, relaxed and spending your time in luxury! Here are 8 tips that will ensure you get that perfect Instagram holiday post. 1. Don’t look down We all know what it looks like when you accidentally open your front camera- up the nostril and rocking a double chin, right? Well there is your proof that the perfect selfie is taken from a higher angle. 2. Relax your shoulders Even if you are the one in control, being in front of a camera can still be scary. This makes a lot of people tense their shoulders up and look uncomfortable. Relax, take a deep breath and let your shoulders sink into your body before taking your selfie. 3. Don’t exaggerate Opening your eyes a little wider and giving a big smile is perfectly normal for a great selfie. But careful not to open them so wide that your forehead stretches past your hairline! And ladies, your lips look beautifully plump when you rest them naturally, too. 4. Look at your background A good selfie normally has either a stunning background (like the ocean or a beautiful view) or an extremely simple one that puts the photo’s focus directly onto you. If you’re taking a selfie to show a public environment you’re excited about seeing, then make sure to check for photo-bombers in the background! 5. Catch the light Your camera’s flash is great for capturing moments on a night out, but it is no match against the beauty that... read more

Every destination is unique and requires a different list of things to take along, but there are a few “must have’s” that are important regardless of where your dream holiday will be. Today we are sharing with you the top 10 “must have items” when going on a holiday. 1. Camera and memory card (and I will throw in a Selfie Stick) Most important item to pack for your holiday is of course a good camera to capture all those unforgettable moments. Whether you are exploring an idyllic town in Italy, relaxing on the beach of a tropical Island or enjoying the wilderness on a true African Safari – you for sure will need to capture that special moment. Leave the bulky camera at home and just take a small camera that won’t take up a lot of space in your backpack. Things to do with your family on holiday

Family Vacations is some of the most memorable times of any person’s life. The memories you make there will be held dear in old age and remembered fondly. It is one of the most important family bonding experiences as well, bringing families together through shared experiences. In recognition of this, Nowahala Tours created a Top 10 Family Activities to do on a holiday this season: 1. Take your kids to the beach It is every child’s favourite thing to spend time on the beach. Swimming with mom and dad, building sand castles, flying a kite, running away from the breaking waves as if it is a big monster trying to catch you, eating ice cream and much more. Have some fun in the sun! 2. Visit a theme park! Nothing brings out the laughter in a child more that an exhilarating and fun roller coaster or water park. It is a great way for children to burn of that extra energy as well as pushing them to overcome their fears! And the best of all, it is fun for the grownups too. 3. Have a travel drawing box Kids love to draw, and like we all know most of the time it is not just in a colour book and white piece of paper. Give each of your children an old shoe box wrapped with white paper. Your kids can draw on this box before the travelling start to create excitement. During your trip they can put in all the pictures that they draw and also small items unique to the destination. Encourage your children to draw the sceneries... read more

Top 10 Travel Trends for the Future

What will holidays look like in the future? Check-in by Robot, virtual holidays or space travel? Not quite in the near future, but definitely in the distant future. Nowahala Tours has compiled a list of the holiday trends of the near future, and some of them are already here! 1. Travel will be part of life, not just a luxury In our modern world, more than 8 million people fly each day. The concept of travel as rarity is an outdated concept. The barriers to travel is disappearing in a more and more connected and global world. Previous barriers like language, high costs and access to travel information is becoming less of a problem every day. Cheap flights are empowering travellers to jet off for weekends or other quick getaways. Travel is becoming a necessity and not just a luxury. 2. Digital Travel Buddies The traveller of the future will use personalised virtual assistants to join in on your travel adventures. This will be wearable technology that will be able to provide you with instant and simultaneous feedback on translations, holographic displays of airports, neighbourhoods and shopping mall. And don’t think it is far from happening. Google already has Google Glass and Windows will shortly launch Hollow-Lens which is the technology that provides you with the above mentioned features. 3. The Evolution of the Airport Gone are the days of airports representing a chaotic maze of people walking in all directions to catch their flight. Airports are becoming more and more geared towards the future. No longer are airports just a place to board a plane and do your... read more

Time spent with family is worth every second!

Recent studies in the USA have shown that families spend about 36 minutes per weekday together and per week, they spend less than eight hours together on average. This is mainly because we get so caught up in life and work that we forget to make time for the things that matter most. The pressure on family time has grown considerably and work- life balance is an increasingly difficult area to maintain. We are too busy trying to make a living that we forget to live. Your children are and will always be your biggest gift and that is something that must be treasured. When last did you take your children on a proper holiday? We tend to think that watching TV with our children is spending time with them, but that is not the quality time that is necessary for your family.
